The purpose of this seminar is to explore the role of management in developing and maintaining a Collective Responsibility in teams in an organization.
Seminar topics include:
  1. From Work Groups to Teams: Distinguishing between the three characteristics of a work group and the six criteria for a team.
  2. Exploring management’s role in adhering to the Three Basic Requirements for creating a team.
  3. Review and discussion of Five Commitments that a business organization must develop to gain the full benefit from teams.
  4. Assessment of existing leadership practices and attitudes about teams.
  5. Role of team leaders and sponsors in maintaining a sense of collective responsibility .
  6. How to improve dialogue in your management team.

Putting a team together is one of the toughest jobs management has to do today!  It takes a lot of know-how and most managers are not prepared or trained for it.
 
How will we conduct this seminar?
This seminar is an overview of best practices with discussion to compare existing organization policy toward teams. Bob Riesett conducts the event at your site for 15-30 managers. The "Group Process Skills for Work Teams" Team Handbook and all participant materials are included.

The methodology is a combination of lecture presentation, small groups discussion and group on group observation. A personal leadership style assessment instrument will be administered and discussed. Participants will be coached in a process for improving Dialogue in teams.
